*XD *XD I have a crush on this guy. and i always see him once a week because we have a cotillion practice. because my friend is having a cotillion an 18th birthday party, its like a dinner dance and so im one of the people in her court or entourage. and this guy my partner, ive been going to school with him since middle school. and i finally get a chance to talk to him! he's really weird like funny it makes me laugh hahah i like weird cus im weird myself *GLINT *GLINT *LOVE *LOVE . but i dont know how to start a really funny conversation and i usually know how! i want us to get to know each other more, but sometimes i just dont have anything to say *OMG *OMG *XD *XD *DROP *DROP

pick a random subject, if you cant, here's a few ideas, 1) choose something that you like for example, talk about manga or something, 2) look around the room and stop when you see an object and talk about something to do with that e.g. a plate of cookies "what type of cookie do you like best?" 3) associate 10 words to do with the guy and talk about that e.g he might listen to music, "what music are you into?"

as for funny topics....i dont know since i dont plan to be funny, it just comes for me *XD

I actually think talking online first makes things more awkward. I did that with one of my guy friends whom I didn't talk to very often at school, and whenever we saw each other in school we couldn't think of anything to say. *RUN

Funny eh. No there isn't really a topic that will start a funny converstaion. Its best that it naturally comes along the way. Rather than start a funny one keep to the normal serious tone like for example about the relatives in jail you could ask him instead to elaborate further as that is interesting indeed to have that many in jail. Thats crucial to him since he does know people in jail and if you can accept that then it shows that hey, u got relatives in jail, ur still my friend, having relatives in jail don't make u a bad guy.
