Title: Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hana Kimi)
Description: JP Drama
Anime/Manga Fanatic - January 17, 2008 04:43 PM (GMT)
This is a thread for the Japanese Drama of Hana Kimi. I don't think there's much to say since anyone who comes here probably already knows what it is. Although, the drama really strays from the manga, I still liked it a lot. It was hilarious and each of them brought something new to their characters. I like the background story for why Mizuki went to go see Sano, even though it's totally different from the manga. Although, it probably still would have been good if they took after the manga exactly, they took a big risk making it their own. It was terrific!
However, did anyone else think that they based Umeda after someone? I kept thinking... Ah! Gackt! *SHY Haha! I like Gackt...
Did anyone else notice the goof they made during this drama about the house? It's not a big thing, I just kind of was like... "What?" Anyways, during the flashback when her parents visit, it shows Mizuki leaving a small house with a gate. At the end, she leaves a mansion?! Haha! I just wanted to know if anyone else caught it?

*DROP I didn't notice the house thing.
But I enjoyed the drama. It was just really silly and fun to watch (and I have to admit I'm a fan of Shun *XD). I know some people thought it was terrible since it was so different from the manga, but that didn't bother me too much. When dramas follow the manga too closely it can bore me. *SIGH

XDD my friend pointed out that Kagurazaka ish gay in the drama!!
XDDD i laughed when she told me that. Then at the end that was the whole thing with Sano (Oguri) in a maid outfit and Kagurazaka (Shirota) asked for Sano to be the waitress to wait on him... XDDD *XD *XD *XD
my friend was just like"see? I told you!"

Haha, I didn't notice the house until Anime/Manga Fanatic pointed it out. I really like the jdrama, and I watched it before I read the manga (a horrible mistake on my part) Some people who loved the manga never liked the jdrama since the drama's plot strayed (somewhat) from the manga, but I think the manga can stand alone on its own.
My favorite part of the drama (that wasn't included in the manga) was the whole challenge things like the part where they were in the beach and competing against Kagurazaka, and the 90 challenge competition among the 3 dorms that ended in a tie haha. And of course, all the ikemen in their cheerleader outfit.
Although I guess the manga-version of Sano is much more lovable than the drama version. But Kagurazaka and Nakatsu are absolutely adorable in the drama. *LOVE
And the funniest Kagurazaka scene (apart from when he wanted Sano to serve him in their Maid Cafe) was when Sano kissed Kagurazaka, Kagurazaka's face was so funny!

the japanese version is the best *ROLL
in my opinion *GLINT i didn't like the guy who plays Sano in the taiwanese drama *SIGH
i say Wu Chun was a bit girly ... not in a bad way but i felt while reading the manga that sano would be a bit more manlier BUT Wu Chun was good at acting in the drama...
I loved Oguri Shun *NOSE and Ikuta Toma *NOSE
Horikita Maki was sooo pretty in the drama *ROLL and so funny *LOVE
Nevi - April 12, 2009 06:58 AM (GMT)
I prefer the Japanese version to the Taiwanese one, though I haven't seen the latter completely yet. I liked the Japanese actors more though, maybe because they kept the manga names and they were so cute! *ROLL
The Taiwanese version seems to stick more to the manga, but it kept confussing me because of the different names. *SHOCK
Love Hana Kimi though. *LOVE
mikariangel - April 22, 2009 11:59 AM (GMT)
i liked the japanese version too.. except for the guy who played sano
*DROP
Nevi - April 22, 2009 04:16 PM (GMT)
I actually liked that guy, he was a bit arrogant and distant, just like the Sano from the manga. Nakatsu was absolutely my fav though, so crazy...
*LOLZ *XD

finalfantasylover - June 15, 2009 10:28 PM (GMT)
Hana Kimi was one of the first dramas I ever watched. It was really good. I full out love the manga. Sano = <3
Hana Kimi pretty much reminds me of She's the Man (the American movie starring Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum)...which is based off of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Both stories have the girl dressing up as a guy to sneak into a boarding school to accomplish some goal then ends up falling in love with the roommate.
Anyways, I just went off on a tangent there. I prefer the Japanese version, although I didn't end up watching the entire Taiwanese version either. Nakatsu is hilarious. By far the funniest character on the show. His inner monologues are so fabulous.
EdwardCullen17 - August 12, 2009 09:15 PM (GMT)

Nakatsu was the funniest and the cutest~ *NOSE *LOVE *HUG
