Didn't know ehere to post so I hope this place is a suitable one (allthough I doubt that it will be any problem if I'm in the wrong place, cause it seems spamming isn't such abig thing at this forum ^^).

Anyhow, my problem. I just bought all the Sailor Moon volumes in Japanese, which is great, the pictures are all pretty and all. I just don't know what they say cause I don't speak much Japanese ^^ and I certainly don't read it.

Since I study languages it shouldn't be a problem learning, exept the fact that I'm really lousy with all those hiragana and katakana (don't even mantion kanji). Does anyone know of a good way to learn them? And also learn the language?

Take a class? *WIPE Or go to Japan and cut yourself off from the outside world. *XD

well, sometimes it is hard for some ppl to take a class or go to japan... u can buy a book that teaches u japanese, there are many out there. and the best way to learn hiragana and katakana is just to practice writing and reading them and quizzing yourself.

Yep. Writing them over and over again is best. Though sometimes I still forget katakana and spell my own last name wrong. *SHOCK My last name sucks. *DROP

yeah.. for me.. katakana is harder to memorize.. *MSHY
but usually the japanese memorized katakana better than hiragana and prefer using katakana.. *??

There should be several book stores that will provide the needed Japanese books. If you can afford them, buy E-Japanese dictionary (depending on what which you get, it should provide the hiragana and katakana charts), books that'll help you better understand the structure of Japanese grammar, kanji books. Constant usage and constant form of Japanese communication is needed (watching anime/movies/music in Japanese can help). This will require dedication and alot of memorization. Repetition is a must!
